Fort Worth Rodeo Goes Pink, and It’s More Than Just a Fashion Statement

Rodeo with a Purpose: Supporting Cancer Patients

When people think of a rodeo, they picture cowboys, boots, and horses—not pink. But at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, pink is making a statement. On Tuesday, the rodeo will “go pink” in support of Careity, an organization dedicated to helping cancer patients receive quick and effective care.

Careity, co-founded by Beverly Branch, ensures that patients get the help they need without unnecessary delays.

They find a lump and call us, and then we start moving with them,” Branch explained. The organization walks with patients through every step of their journey, offering not just medical guidance but also emotional and financial support.

Providing Compassionate Support for Patients

A cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, and many patients struggle to process the news. “When a radiologist says you have cancer, they absolutely tune out,” Branch shared.

One such patient, Pamela Daniels, remembers the moment she received her diagnosis. “I told my husband I was going for a ride; I’d be right back. I left, went to Lake Arlington, and cried my eyes out,” she recalled.

Careity stepped in to help her in ways she never expected. From arranging treatment to providing gas money for her appointments, the organization ensured that Daniels had the support she needed. Even the little things made a difference.

The type of chemo I had affected my feet and hands. When they came in to help, oh my god, I almost hated being finished,” she said, appreciating the care she received.

Making a Difference for All Patients

Careity’s services are available to all, whether insured or uninsured. The organization has built strong relationships within the medical community to help patients navigate the complex healthcare system.

“We’re people who you need to know to help you through,” Branch said. “Insured or not, we have connections that move you through the system.”

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s decision to wear pink is more than just a color change—it’s a powerful statement of support for those battling cancer. By bringing awareness to the cause, they hope to make a real difference in the lives of patients like Pamela Daniels.

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s “Go Pink” initiative highlights the importance of supporting cancer patients through organizations like Careity.

By offering not just medical assistance but also emotional and financial support, Careity ensures that no one faces cancer alone.

The event is a reminder that true cowboy and cowgirl spirit isn’t just about toughness—it’s also about compassion and community.
